What does this treatment cost?

Skin Needling uses micro needles on a medical grade pen that move over the skin to create tiny, evenly-spaced punctures on the skin. These micro-punctures go through the skin with minimal damage to the upper epidermal layer, but create a microscopic, generally painless injury to the deeper dermal layer. The minor injury and bleeding triggers a “wound-healing” response in the skin which will send a message to the body to produce additional collagen in order to repair the newly damaged area. 

By gliding the needles over the face it will break down collagen bundles (scars) and stimulate collagen production to fill in the holes in your skin, raising the level of the pits and smoothing them out.

The needles will also break up the melanin/pigment below the skins surface to lighten and reduce hyper-pigmentation, sun spots and Melasma.

Microneedling is less expensive than laser treatments, which can cost about four times as much. Microneedling may work better for people with darker skin tones because it doesn’t involve heat the way laser treatments do, which can affect your skin’s pigmentation, or colour.

Reduces Scars 

Whether you have scars from accidents or acne, Microneedling helps reduce them by breaking down scar tissue and provoking collagen to backfill the scar marks. With a series of Microneedling sessions, you can restore hydration and elasticity to the scar tissue and minimise its overall appearance. Raised acne scars respond better to microneedling than those that are indented or depressed.  

Minimizes Wrinkles 

Collagen and elastin production naturally dwindle as you get older. That’s why microneedling is an effective way to fight back. It triggers your body’s innate healing mechanisms, which causes it to generate more skin-fortifying collagen and elastin. The procedure firms, tones, and tightens, leaving your skin smooth and supple.  

Rejuvenates Skin 

With new collagen and elastin, your skin gets its bounce and vitality back. The new layers haven’t been exposed to the sun, wind, or time, so your skin looks smooth, hydrated and healthy.  

Eradicates Sun Damage 

Microneedling does a tremendous job of lightening and reversing hyper-pigmentation and sun damage. This is again due to the power of collagen production and its ability to repair and restore your skin. There’s some research that suggests that Microneedling is the most effective therapy for sun spots.   

Reduces Discolouration

If you have a Melanin imbalance that’s causing discolouration and pigment irregularities, Microneedling will help too generate a fresh layer of skin. The new layer would be more uniform in colour and texture, displacing the dark spots and marks. The needles will break up the pigment below the skins surface to lighten, reduce and disperse pigmentation.

Almost anyone can have the procedure performed as long as they do not have any active infections, lesions, or any known wound healing problems. If you have active acne, or tender acne cysts, we will not Microneedle over those areas.

There is minimal down time following a Microneedling treatment. You may experience some redness for a short time after the treatment.  You should avoid swimming, strenuous exercises or anything that will cause heat to the skin for at least for the next 24-48 hours.

We would highly recommend doing a series of 3-6 initial treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart to get on top of your skin concerns. For maintenance we would recommend doing 2 -3 Microneedling treatments per year.

Although you may notice improvements after your first session, it usually requires several to fully treat issues and reap the long-term benefits.

•  It’s not a quick fix. It takes time to notice a difference. That’s because your body is healing and remodelling itself. Most people need a few treatments before they see any change. 

•  Healing time. It may take days or weeks to heal, depending on how deep the needles pierce your skin.  Your skin will take 12 weeks onwards to heal after the initial session- this is why we recommend doing a series of 3 initial treatments 4-6 weeks apart to kick start the process.

• Pain and redness. You may have some minor pain after the procedure, and your skin may be red for a few days.  

• Peeling. Your skin may feel tight and flake a bit while it heals. This is because we are fast forwarding the skin cell renewal process and new skin is being generated.
