What does this treatment cost?

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) hair reduction is a non-invasive treatment designed to significantly reduce unwanted hair. It works by delivering pulses of light energy to the hair follicles, heating and disrupting their growth cycle. Over time, treated follicles stop producing hair, leaving the skin smoother. IPL is versatile, suitable for a variety of skin and hair types, and can treat large areas efficiently. Multiple sessions are required for optimal results, typically spaced 4-6 weeks apart, to target hair during its active growth phase.

We offer three types of IPL hair removal: standard IPL, SHR (Super Hair Removal), and Dual-Mode IPL.

• Standard IPL uses intense pulsed light with customizable wavelengths. Ideal for lighter skin tones with dark hair.
• SHR Uses lower energy and continuous pulses to heat the skin gradually, making it safer, more comfortable, and effective on a wider range of skin tones and hair types- including blonde, grey and red hair!
• Dual-Mode IPL combines the benefits of both, optimizing comfort and effectiveness by targeting deeper and superficial follicles simultaneously.

• You must be at least 16 years old with parental or guardian consent.
• Skin must not have sunburn, fake tan, open wounds, or rashes in the treatment areas.
• Fake tan should be avoided for a minimum of 2 weeks before and 1 week after treatment.
• No unprotected sun exposure on treatment areas for at least 2 weeks before and after sessions.
• Waxing, tweezing, or threading must be avoided for a minimum of 3 weeks, and no hair removal creams for at least 6 weeks before treatment.
• Clients must not be epileptic, pregnant, or breastfeeding within the last 3 months.
• Those taking photosensitising medications within the last 3 months or with past/current cancer are not eligible.
• Brazilian or inner bikini treatments are for female clients only and cannot be performed during menstruation.

Before Your Treatment:

• Shave: Shave the treatment area the night before. Avoid plucking, tweezing, or waxing for at least three weeks prior, as IPL works best when targeting active hair follicles.
• Avoid active Ingredients: Discontinue use of AHAs, BHAs, Vitamin A and Vitamin C 3 days prior.
• Avoid Fake Tans: Ensure no fake tan residue is present two weeks before treatment to prevent burns or irritation.
• Protect Skin: Avoid direct sun exposure for two weeks prior.
• Hygiene: For Brazilian or bikini areas, IPL will not be performed during menstruation. Sanitize before the session using provided wipes.

After Your Treatment:

• Avoid: No swimming, spas, saunas, or exercise for 24 hours. Avoid sun exposure for two weeks and do not pluck or wax between treatments.
• Wait: Wait 14 days before shaving and seven days before fake tanning.
• Apply: Use SPF 50+ daily. For irritation, apply a soothing cream like Bepanthen or  Laser Aid.
• Exfoliate: Three days post-treatment, use an AHA or BHA exfoliant to aid hair expulsion and prevent ingrown hairs.

Both IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) and Laser Hair Removal are effective methods to reduce unwanted hair, but they differ significantly in how they work.

IPL uses a broad spectrum of light that targets hair follicles at multiple depths in the skin. This makes IPL incredibly versatile, as it can be adjusted to suit various skin types, hair colors (except blonde, grey, and red), and areas of the body. It's an excellent option for large areas like legs and backs and more sensitive areas like the face and underarms.

Laser Hair Removal, on the other hand, uses a concentrated single wavelength of light. This precision is ideal for targeting coarser, darker hair in smaller, localized areas. However, this narrow focus often makes laser less adaptable for clients with lighter hair or varying skin tones.

IPL is also less intense than laser, which often means more comfortable treatments with minimal downtime. Since IPL treats broader areas in a single flash, sessions are typically quicker, especially for large treatment zones.

Typically, 8-12 treatments are needed, spaced 4-6 weeks apart, depending on the area. Maintenance sessions may be recommended to sustain results such as once or twice per year.
